What is home service marketing?

Home service marketing gets a local trade found when something breaks or needs doing, then makes sure the call gets answered. Telos Creative does it for home service businesses in Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley and across Northern Colorado, from our office in Windsor: your Google listing, your website, your ads and your phone, with every call counted.

The customer usually has a problem today and calls two or three businesses. The one who shows up on the map, looks real and picks up gets the job. We also work with businesses in other states.

Updated November 2026

Why do home service businesses lose jobs they already paid for?

Often it happens after the marketing has worked.

  • Half of calls go unansweredA person answers only 52% of calls to home services businesses, according to Invoca’s 2026 home services benchmark.
  • Missed calls come in working hoursAt one home service company of ours, 19 of the 20 calls missed between 31 August and 3 November 2026 came on weekdays between 8am and 3pm, when most crews are out on jobs.
  • Nobody knows which marketing paidWithout call tracking, the listing, the ads and the website all look the same in your bank account. That makes it hard to know what to cut.

What does home service marketing include?

One plan across five things, and we start where you are losing the most.

  • Your Google listingCategories, services, photos of real jobs and a steady flow of reviews, with a fresh map of your area every week.
  • A website built around the callA tap-to-call button on every page, a page for each job and fast loading on a phone.
  • Google AdsFor the jobs you want this week, with calls counted so you can see what each one cost.
  • An AI receptionistAnswers the calls you miss on a job, takes the details and books them onto your calendar.
  • One dashboardCalls, forms, rankings and ad spend in one place, so you can see where each job came from.

What does SEO for home services look like?

Close to home, and one job at a time.

Most home services searches are local and urgent, so the map comes first and the pages come second. A water heater repair page and a drain cleaning page each answer a different search, and each one should say which towns you cover and how fast you can get there.

Reviews carry extra weight here, because a homeowner with a leak picks from the three businesses on the map. If your work is longer projects, like remodels and additions, contractor SEO fits you better.

Has this worked for anyone?

One real account, with the name withheld.

  • A home service company in ColoradoSince we took over its Google Ads on 1 September 2026, calls from the ads went from 3 in the last four weeks of August to 20 in September and 18 in October, with clicks at about $10. About half of the October calls came from people searching its name. Two months is a short read.

“I am happy with his work and more importantly felt I could trust him during this process and again for future work.”

Questions about home service marketing

Do you work with plumbers, electricians and HVAC companies?

Yes. The plan is the same: the map, a page per job, an answered phone and counted calls. We have no project in those trades to show you yet, and we will tell you that up front.

Where should a small home service business start?

Usually with the Google listing and the phone, because those are the cheapest to fix and closest to the job. The free audit shows where your biggest gap is.

Do you sell leads?

No. Every call and form from your listing and your site comes to you, and nobody else gets it.

Should I keep paying for lead sites like Angi?

If they pay, keep them, and count the jobs they bring in. Your own listing and website keep working when you stop paying, and a lead site does not.

Do I need all of this at once?

No. Most businesses start with one or two pieces and add the next when the first one is paying its way.

What does it cost?

It depends on which pieces you need. Arnold gives you a clear scope and price on a call before any work begins.
