What is Google Business Profile management?
Google Business Profile management keeps your Google listing accurate, active and in the running for local searches. Telos Creative handles it for businesses in Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley and across Northern Colorado, from our office in Windsor: categories, services, photos, posts and a map of where you rank, checked every week.
You may know the listing by its old name, Google My Business. It is the box with your phone number, reviews and directions that shows on Google and on Maps, and it often brings in more calls than your website.

What do we do on your listing?
Everything Google lets you set, and the work around it.
- CategoriesYour primary category is the strongest setting on the listing. We compare yours with the businesses ranking above you, and add secondary categories only for work you really do.
- Services and descriptionEvery service you sell, written out, using the names Google already offers where they fit. The description says what you do and where in the first line.
- Photos of real jobsAdded on a schedule. Google shows the newest first, so an old gallery is easy to spot, and it reads what the photos show.
- Posts and updatesPosts do little for rank by themselves. We run them because a quiet listing loses ground over time, and because they give AI answers more to read.
- Hours, links and detailsRegular hours, holiday hours and attributes, plus a tagged website link so we can count the visits your listing sends.
- ReviewsA simple way to ask every customer, with no rewards and no filtering, which is what Google requires.
- Spam around youIf a rival’s listing breaks Google’s rules, we report it.
What decides where a listing shows on the map?
Google names three things, and distance is the one you cannot change.
Google says local results come down to relevance, distance and prominence. Relevance is how well your listing matches the search. Prominence is how well known you are, which reviews and links feed. Distance is how far the searcher is from your verified address.
So a listing is strongest close to its own address and thins out as you move away. We tell you that up front, and we use the pages on your website to reach the towns further out. For the full picture, see our local SEO services.
Has this worked for anyone?
Our own listing, measured on a grid of 72 spots around our office. Green means top 3.

27 May 2026: in the Maps top 10 at 16 of 72 spots for “seo services fort collins”.

11 October 2026: in the top 10 at 37 of 72 spots, and in the top 3 at 20.
- A bathroom remodeler in Northern Colorado, name withheld#1 in the Google map box for “bathroom remodeling” from its own town on 31 October 2026, and in the top 3 at 52 of 72 spots for “bathroom remodeling near me”, read during business hours on 30 October. The map at the top of this page is its Sunday reading of 11 October. This shows where it stands today, and it was already strong when we started.
- A general contractor in Northern Colorado, name withheldWe rebuilt its listing on 30 October 2026: new photos, a rewritten description and 11 services. It is too early to report a result, so we are not reporting one.
“We had our website rebuilt and had more visibility instantly!”

How does it work?
- We read your map firstA grid scan shows where you rank around your address, and which businesses take the top 3.
- We rebuild the listingCategories, services, description, photos and hours, with your OK on anything that changes what you offer.
- We keep it activePosts and photos on a calendar, a fresh map every week, and the numbers on your dashboard.
Who needs their listing managed?
Any business customers find by searching nearby.
It matters most where the phone call is the sale. Trades and repairs are the clearest case, which is why it sits at the center of our home service marketing and contractor SEO. It also suits clinics, studios and shops that want more people through the door.
A business that only sells online has less to gain here, and we will tell you that on the call.

Questions about Google Business Profile management
Is Google My Business the same as Google Business Profile?
Yes. Google renamed Google My Business to Google Business Profile. Searching for either one means the same listing.
Is this part of your SEO service?
Yes. Every SEO client gets it. If your listing is the only thing you want help with, ask Arnold on a call.
Do I have to give you my login?
No. You stay the owner, and you add us as a manager on the listing.
Can you get a bad review taken down?
Only Google can remove a review, and only when it breaks Google's rules. If it does, we report it. A review that is simply unhappy stays up.
Can you rank me in a town where I have no address?
The map favors businesses close to the searcher, so it is hard to win the map in a town far from your address. For those towns the ordinary search results and your website pages do more of the work.
How long until the map moves?
Changes to services and categories can show within days. A steady climb across the map usually takes months, and it depends on your reviews, your links and how strong your rivals are.
